6/8/25 Foster Feedback: Looking for a fun-loving, energetic companion who will keep you on your toes and make you laugh every day? Meet Padme, a medium-sized, uniquely spotted ball of love with a big personality and an even bigger heart.
Padme is friendly, sweet, and absolutely lives for time with her people. She’s got a serious case of FOMO (fear of missing out) and wants to be part of everything you do—from walks to playing in the yard with our three dogs to lounging on the couch. She’s mastered the art of the sploot and loves to perch on arm rests where she can keep an eye on the action. Padme has an adorably serious “mean mug” look—don’t be fooled, she’s a total sweetheart. She’s full of love, fun and sass.
We’re a week into crate training—she’s starting to settle in, happily eating, and sleeping in her crate and practicing staying calm during the workday. Padme had broken out of a crate at a previous foster and isn’t a huge fan of it yet. She’s making progress and learning it is a safe space. She loves going for walks and does well on a leash. We’re currently working on her “look” cue for better focus. Padme is smart and curious, sometimes too curious! She’s been known to sneak through gates and doesn’t always respect fencing, so she’ll need a secure setup and a watchful eye.
Padme would thrive in a home where she’s not left alone for long periods. She is well mannered, has a lot of potential and is eager to please, but she needs a person or family who’s ready to invest guidance, consistency, and love. A fenced-in yard would be a bonus, and she’d make a great companion for someone who enjoys walks, playtime, and couch cuddles.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving sidekick who’s always up for the next adventure (and maybe a little mischief), Padme could be your perfect match!
2/28/2025 Foster Feedback: We’ve had Padme for about a week after she was returned to the shelter. Because of her situation, she does have quite a bit of separation anxiety (who can blame her?). Over the past week of having her in our home, Padme has slowly let her walls down as we work on building her trust. She is the quintessential teenager- sweet yet sassy, loves her own voice, is stubborn and energetic but loves to snuggle up with you at the end of the day. She enjoys bossing around her older foster sister and has quickly become her bestie.
Padme is energetic and would thrive in a home with a large fenced-in yard or on a farm, with an owner who enjoys the outdoors and is willing to bring her on all their adventures. She would also benefit from having another dog in the home as it seems to help ease the anxiety. Padme’s ideal owner is someone who is patient and willing to put in the work to give her the best forever home.
Padme received little formal training in her previous home but is potty trained and knows a few basic commands. We are working on crate training and will continue working with her as she eases into life with us. She is very smart and learns easily. Padme can be vocal at times when she watches out the window or hears unfamiliar sounds.
This little girl has a lot of love to give.
